Support

Support at RaceHouse covers the practical side of a race car build, from brake pads and fluid to harness checks and suspension setup. Our Midrand team works with track, rally and club racers across South Africa, with fitting advice and setup days shaped around the car, the class and the day at the circuit.

Support

Support centred on the car before us

Every car arrives with its own mix of age, parts and past work, so support begins with the details that matter on track. We look at the car, the class rules, the circuit use and the driver’s notes before any parts are picked or adjusted. That helps keep the plan grounded in what the car actually needs, not just what looks neat on the shelf.

Brake feel, heat control, tyre wear and seating position often show the first clues. A car that pushes at turn-in may need alignment changes, while a soft pedal can point to fluid, pad or bleed issues. Our team works through those signs one by one, then maps out the next steps in plain language.

Brake, suspension and cooling support

Hard use asks a lot from brakes and suspension, especially on repeated laps in Gauteng heat or a long weekend away from Midrand. We help with brake upgrade planning, bleed work, coilover setup, alignment checks and corner weighting where the car needs a more settled balance. Cooling checks matter too, because oil and water temperatures can climb fast in traffic, on infield sections or during longer stints.

  • Brake pads, fluid and pedal feel checks
  • Coilover settings and ride height changes
  • Alignment and corner weighting for balance
  • Radiator and oil cooler layout support

Some cars need small changes, others need a more measured rebuild of the setup. We keep the advice practical and tied to the way the car is used.

Safety fitment with room to move

Seats, harnesses and roll cages only help if they suit the driver and the car together. Support here is about position, reach and restraint, not just fitting parts in place. We check seat placement, harness angles and cage fit advice so the driver sits where they can work the steering, pedals and mirrors without strain.

For saloons, hatchbacks and purpose-built track shells, the smallest change can affect comfort and control. A seat too far back changes pedal timing, while a harness mounted poorly can make the whole car tiring to drive. We keep the focus on safe packaging that still leaves enough movement for a real race session.

Fuel, clutch and shift work that suits the rest of the build

Fuel system layout and clutch and shift setup often sit behind the more visible parts, but they shape how the car behaves every lap. A fuel cell needs to fit the available space cleanly, with lines and mounts arranged so service is straightforward. The clutch, shifter and linkages should work together without vague movement or awkward pedal effort.

When those parts are sorted properly, the driver spends less energy fighting the car. That makes a difference in club racing, sprint events and longer sessions where fatigue starts to show. It also keeps the rest of the setup easier to read during testing.

Track setup days for local and long-distance racers

Setup days give drivers a chance to work through the car with fresh eyes, rather than guessing between sessions. Our Midrand base supports drivers from Johannesburg, Pretoria, Kyalami, Centurion, Durban and Cape Town, with setup work that can be matched to the circuit and the class. The aim is not to chase changes for their own sake, but to leave the car clearer and easier to drive.

  • Initial walk-through of the car and current setup
  • Brake, suspension and seating checks in sequence
  • Adjustment notes for the next test session
  • Practical fitting advice for planned parts

That process works well for cars that have been changed over time, as well as builds that are still being trimmed for pace and consistency.

How to send the right details through our contact form

When a support query comes in, the best starting point is a clear note on the car, the class and the issue you want to solve. Mention the chassis, the current parts fitted, what changed recently and whether the problem shows up on road sections, in the pits or on track. Photos help as well, especially around brake hardware, suspension pick-up points, seat mounts and fuel routing.

our contact form is the simplest way to send that information to the team. It gives us enough to match the request to the right person, whether the work points to brakes, cooling, safety gear or a broader setup review.
