People who fit the pace of motorsport retail
RaceHouse is a Midrand base with work that stretches far beyond a counter and a storeroom. The team handles motorsport parts, performance upgrades, fitting advice and setup days for racers travelling in from Johannesburg, Pretoria, Kyalami, Centurion and further afield.
We look for people who can speak clearly, keep part numbers straight and understand that a brake pad choice or suspension setting can change a car’s day at the track. Good habits matter here, especially when a customer is balancing grip, heat and wear on a car that must work hard lap after lap.
Roles we recruit for as our team expands
Openings can sit in sales, workshop support, technical advice, logistics or customer communication. Some roles are front of house and some live closer to the workshop bench, but all of them need neat records and a proper eye for detail.
- Sales and parts support for brake pads, fluid, clutch parts and cooling items
- Workshop support for fitment checks, alignment checks and corner weighting days
- Technical support around coilovers, bushes, roll cage fit advice and seat positioning
- Logistics and stock handling for incoming and outgoing motorsport orders
Depending on experience, a role may involve talking through a brake upgrade plan, checking a harness fitment or helping a driver understand the order of a setup day. The work is practical, and the pace changes with the racing calendar.
Skills that help on our floor and in our workshop
We value hands-on ability, but not only that. A person can know how a part looks and still miss the detail that makes it suit the car. We prefer people who ask good questions, measure twice and notice when something is not sitting right.
- Clear communication with racers, builders and weekend competitors
- Comfort reading part descriptions and matching them to the right car
- Basic mechanical understanding of braking, suspension and cooling systems
- Respect for clean work areas, ordered stock and careful packing
- Confidence working with drivers from Durban, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth as well as Gauteng
Experience in motorsport helps, though a strong mechanical base and the right attitude can count for a great deal. The people who settle in well are usually the ones who stay calm when a setup list grows longer than planned.
How the work connects to the car
Our team deals with the parts that drivers feel immediately. That may mean helping with brake bleeding, cooling system checks, clutch and shift setup, or choosing the right seat and harness position before a race weekend. It can also mean walking through a fuel system layout or checking whether a suspension package suits the car’s use.
We do not sell smoke and mirrors. The job is about sensible advice, proper fitment thinking and enough technical discipline to keep a build moving in the right direction. People who enjoy real problem solving tend to do well here.
A workday can include these tasks
- Receiving motorsport parts and checking them against the order
- Preparing parts for collection or dispatch to other provinces
- Helping with fitting advice for brakes, suspension or safety gear
- Supporting setup days with notes, measurements and handover details
- Keeping the workshop and stock areas tidy enough for quick work
Some days stay close to the counter. Other days move deeper into the workshop or into customer prep for a race meeting. The rhythm changes, but the standard stays the same, keep things accurate and keep the car in mind.
